a little death around the eyes

I only enjoy drama when it relates to theatrics, fashion and, of course, make up! I adore when one feature is accentuated and the rest of the palette is muted. Whether it's a bold lip, strong cheeks, or a little death around the eyes. Who doesn't love a fierce glance coming their way? Especially when the eyes within are so beautiful, a little outlining always helps make them stand out. Using onyx tones is so classic and timeless, absolutely anyone can pull it off. And with the right outfit, it's as though you walked right off the runway.

i forget to pray for the angels and then the angels forget to pray for us

Through my incessant blog lurking, I've discovered an incredible artist of the jewelry world. CHASE.DAKOTA is a fantastic line of majestical pieces handmade by Sammi Burley. Her blog is a wonderful place full of radical photographs, sweet giveaways and awesome jewelry you won't find anywhere else. Check out her blog here and get ready for your mouths to water and your credit cards to ache. She just designed a new line called Riders of the Storm. So groovy, my flip flops can't even take it.

when i was an alien, cultures weren't opinions

Hello lovelies, I'm new here and I would like to welcome (er, introduce?) myself with a quick Q&A so you all get a better feel of who I am and what I'm here to talk about

Name: Melika
Age: 16
Why are you here? I needed a place to binge and bask in all my bizarre and eccentric thoughts mainly regarding the aspects of fashion.
How did your obsession with fashion begin? When I was a kid and I'd go to the mall, I'd perpetually go into the Betsey Johnson boutique and lightly stroke all the yummy knits and flouncy poodle skirts and day dream of what sort of fabulous nonsense went through Betsey's head when she thought of all these glamourous pieces. I wanted to be everything she was: outrageous, ballsy, and charismatic. I soon learned to do that through fashion. Fashion just turns me on.
Current music on repeat on your ipod? Raunchy rock n roll is all
What concerts have you been to? I've seen Julian Casablancas twice, The Growlers a few times, I flew to Chicago to attend Lollapalooza, a 3 day music festival, and saw The StrokesThe Black Keys, the XX, Metric, MGMT, Phoenix, Arcade Fire, The National and alot more, Matt & Kim and a few other indie bands at this music festival in Pasadena, and back in the day.. Hilary Duff (come on, didn't we all?)

Favorite subject in school? It's a tie between Literature, French and Art.
Interesting fact about yourself? Vogue and Nylon are my bibles. I read them religiously. Oh, and I enjoy writing poetry.

I'm just going to dive into this world of blogging and see if I can swim. Or if I'm lucky, float.
